Also, group lessons will be scheduled based on group of similar skill level members register for programs summarized below.

Beginner

Players in this level will learn all the piece names, how to set up the chess board correctly, basic rules of chess and how to visualize them on the board, including the concepts of check and checkmate. Also, will learn on chess notations reading and writing.

Intermediate

Prerequisites: Must know the basic rules of chess

Players who want to take their chess game to the next level. Players will focus on learning and applying basic opening principles and fundamental tactical patterns to their games. There will be higher-level instruction at this level in order to prepare students for the Advanced level.

All players at this level are expected to have USCF membership ID# and an official USCF rating less than 1000.

Advanced

Prerequisites: Must be an experienced player (competes regularly, does self study, etc) with an official USCF rating

Players who show a sincere desire to improve their playing strength and rating through classroom instruction, self-study, and competing in tournaments. Advanced players focus on challenging their tactical vision, learning positional play, and more.

All players in this level must have a current USCF membership ID# and an official USCF rating of 1000 or above.
